Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox Cosmetic, Daxxify, Dysport, Jeuveau, Xeomin) is injected into specific muscles to cause localized muscle relaxation that smooths the overlying skin and reduces wrinkles. Botulinum toxin type A is commonly injected into the forehead, in between the eyebrows (aka frown lines or “11’s”, and around the eyes “crow’s feet”. Botulinum toxin type A is used off label to reduce lines under the eyes, on the nose and around the mouth.
